Effective communication between the hearing and persons with hearing loss is neither complicated nor complex.

SNA Accessibility Consulting employs the "Train the Trainers" methodology. It has been our experience that the most common problems in meeting the communication needs of persons with hearing loss are

  1. the failure of organizations to integrate and maintain information levels and skills; and,
  2. inconsistency in the application of accommodation measures. For example, it is not unusual to see advertisements from different sections of the same organization in which some list a TTY number, while others do not.
